Event Description:
Forward-thinking Strategies of Modularization
With continued pressure on project cost, labor shortages and aggressive schedules, there is no better time to explore the alternatives to the traditional stick built method of preforming construction. In 2017 FMI, CII, and CURT collaborated in a survey to gauge where the industry stood relative to Offsite Construction and Modularization.
While many of the owners agreed that the construction environment has change dramatically, options based on owner experiences were limited. The study also revealed when pursued, they have been relatively successful with offsite construction, yet many owners are concerned with driving forward due to lack of knowledge and experience, fear of taking new risks, and reluctance to change.
In 2018, this workshop will connect owners, contractors, and supplier leaders with the tools and knowledge that will support, improve, and accelerate efforts related to successful decision-making, implementation, and delivery of offsite fabrication and modularization methods.
This year's workshop will address some of those fears by identifying alternatives to the skilled labor shortage, lack of experience in front end loading, and critical logistics. We will also cover the latest engineering methodology with fabrication directly from the engineering office to the shop floor.
As with last year's workshop, we will provide ideas on how to develop a business case for Offsite Construction & Modularization along with providing the value add for your businesses.
Please join us for an informative session on Forward-thinking Strategies of Modularization in maximizing my prefabrication value proposition.
